Read-Aloud Tours for Young Children
Introduce children to the museum through Read-Aloud Tours. The programs include story time in the gallery followed by an art activity and are designed for children 3 to 6 accompanied by an adult. Reality Check: Contemporary American Trompe l'Oeil Painting
The art of trompe l'oeil (a French term meaning "to fool the eye") is part of a long tradition of illusionism that dates to antiquity. It continues to engage viewers today by inviting them to become immersed in the act of looking. This exhibition- inspired by the Brandywine River Museum's own collection of 19th and early 20th century American trompe l'oeil painting-will explore the genre in the 21st century through the work of contemporary artists who bring innovative and exciting approaches to the tradition. Over 40 works borrowed from private and public collections will be featured.

Kuerner Farm Tours
For more than 70 years, the historic Kuerner Farm was a major source of inspiration to Andrew Wyeth. Since his earliest painting of the farm in 1932 at the age of 15, Wyeth found subjects in its people, animals, buildings and landscapes for nearly 1,000 works of art. Tours depart from the museum at timed intervals. Due to uneven walking surfaces, the Kuerner Farm is not accessible to disabled individuals.

Longwood Gardens takes you inside the unmapped universe of scent with its debut exhibition, Making Scents: The Art and Passion of Fragrance. This fully interactive experience explores the art, science, and mystery of fragrance - from the perfumeries of Paris to the treetops of the rainforest.

Join Brandywine Conservancy staff members for one or more walks through the Laurels Preserve to listen and look for owls. Children are welcome, but must be able to remain quiet for the duration of the approximate 1.4 mile walk. Meet in the Laurels Preserve parking lot. Space is limited to 15 people. The Imaginary Beasts of Royal Lacey Scoville
This special exhibition presents 38 whimsical watercolors that form an original narrative written and illustrated by Royal Lacey Scoville for his daughter Eleanore. Based on the style of Edward Lear, Lewis Carroll, and Peter Newell, Scoville tells the story of the Lazy Tom Tompkins and the wizard, Tumblebug, who casts a spell on Tom. Tompkins, startled from an afternoon nap, stares in horror at the gigantic snake with a multi-colored head and gaping mouth. Tom, under the spell cast by the wizard, cannot escape the snake's coils and joins the 35 other imaginary creatures ensnared by the snake.

Golden Impressions of Andrew Wyeth by Donald Pywell
This exhibition features exquisitely-crafted jewelry inspired by Andrew Wyeth's paintings. Goldsmith Donald Pywell collaborated with Wyeth on the initial design for each piece of jewelry, and architectural designer Timothy Mark Cole created the settings for them, which are also based on Wyeth's paintings.

Remember Me: du Pont Family Keepsake Portraits
See small portrait miniatures and other portraits of du Pont family members. Of special interest are those depicting the founder of the DuPont Company, E.I. and his wife Sophie, as well as E.I.'s brother Victor's family. Exhibit will be on display in the family ancestral home, Eleutherian Mills. Use main entrance off of route 141 in Wilmington.
